As described more fully in the software requirements list the major requirements of Yawns are:

- Perl
- MySQL
This combination of software can typically be found upon most GNU/Linux systems, and also other operating systems such as FreeBSD.
There is an online installation guide available which demonstrates installing all required software and setting up your site.
- Where do I get the code?
You can download the most recent release, or choose to checkout directly from the mercurial repository which is used for all development.
- How do I use the code?
Once you have installed the code using the available documentation administrate your new installation.
- How do I modify the site appearance?
Once installed the look and feel of the site is made built using a series of templates.
To change the appearance of your site you should modify the site templates to your liking.
