The next release of Debian GNU/Linux is due soon ..

According to the most recent update from the project we should be seeing the next stable release of Debian GNU/Linux in early May.

The announcement upon the mailing list is obviously not a fixed date, but it is indicative of progress.

If you have any hosts running a release of Debian which is older than Squeeze consider this a timely reminder that upgrades are good - getting security support, for free, is priceless.

I wonder if it's safe to upgrade a desktop system yet? I run my system on testing but my servers and other family member's systems run stable as it causes less grief. It's nice to know if there are any gotchas.
