How do I setup Nvidia Drivers under Debian?

How do I setup drivers for my new NVidia FX 5200 under Debian?

I'm using SID and I can't get make the accelerated stuff work.

I had problems with the last install I did on Sarge. I ended up having to use modconf after using the module-assistant install process to manually load the nvidia module into the kernel and then reboot the machine. That finished the driver install.

Don't ask me why though. I've never had to do that before. Running module-assistant with the autoinstall switch always just "worked" for me before. It's as if the install script no longer configures /etc/modules to load the nvidia module, or something along that line anyway, as I've never checked to see what conf files had been modified during the nvidia driver install.
