Question: Suggest a forum package?

I'm looking for software to use for an online forum, which should I choose?
Feature-wise something that's simple to install and use would be good. Features I'm looking for include:
- Easy to integrate into an existing site.
- Easy "moderation".
- No requirement that users be registered.
- If there's a Debian package that would be ideal
Initially I was planning on using phpbb - but there seem to be a lot of security issues with that.
I'd like a fast threadable forum. Don't know how the world is doing for NNTP to web display of threads - but I figure there have to be a few such tools out there.
Not sure what management headache it might create.
Isn't it your job to fix the security issues in Debian packages? Surely then phpbb2 ;) Now you know what the UML packages are for ;)

I have been using Gmane as a mail to news gateway. They give info on their scripts, using something called "Loom" for the PHP-based newsreader. I didn't see a download link for that though. :/

It produces valid xhtml, it's easy to configure and it is more secure than phpbb.
Give it a try

Definitely seconded - although I notice the first thing on the news page is mention of a security fix :S

Do you really need a forum here? There are tons of them. Ask your visitors if they consider that as a good option.
Just my thought... :)

Incidently, I suspect that bravenet.com uses a (modified/scaled down?) version of FUDforum, in case anyone is familiar with them.
Also, FUDforum is available as an egroupware application package in Debian. It seems to be one of a very select few Debian forum packages, period.
