This is a great article for understanding what's going on with LDAP (and basically what I'm using right now) but openLDAP is very low-level. I'm hoping to soon switch to FreeIPA which basically wraps the LDAP and Kerberos servers and some friendly management tools. I haven't had the time to try it yet, but they have a 0.99 tarball on the downloads page. Has anyone installed it on Debian?
