Spammers try the MX record with higher priority numbers usually, because they assume there are less spam protections in the secondary(or ternary) server.

Now if you enter three MX records (say, 5 10 15) for one server, and place the server in the middle (number 10) that may be good ;)

but legitimate servers will have hard time finding the real one and mails will be delayed a bit.
