Ah, that's a shame.

I looks like maintaining the mod-security licence conflict is a deliberate business decision by the developers (and retailers of an "appliance" using it) to prevent it from being distributed in binary form by Debian, Ubuntu, etc.

I guess it won't be reappearing unless someone does an -installer package in the same way that djb-developed tools need to be distributed.

Given I only use it for filtering out POST-based comment spam, etc, I'm considering dropping it in order to allow for easy upgrades and maintainence.
