The only extensions over HTTP is one specific PROPFIND query (while WebDAV allows arbitary ones), plus the requirement for etag support (used for change detection and cache coherence). CalDAV is a quite a big superset of WebDAV, with plenty of calendaring specific REPORTs, plus WebDAV ACL and other stuff.
