The secret is to press control-R and type something before you hit the tab key ;)

Autocompletion for the win! I don't know what I'd do without that <tab> key.

The real question is, how many of us find ourselves habitually hitting tab while typing in a totally non-CLI context, such as writing an email or typing a report? I'm also guilty of trying to tab-complete things the computer couldn't possibly guess, either, such as search terms or the hostname of a server I want to SSH into.

:-)

But seriously, my hands have never looked back since I took up the Dvorak keymap. Faster, more comfortable and less error prone -- for people who like to do things the RIGHT way...

You should give it a try!

I thought of changing to the german NEO layout, basically some Dvorak ideas optimized for german language. I need to figure out how this is supported, unfortunately the installer doesn't support it. Does someone know how to include it in the installer?
