It's a shame radio buttons don't allow for some form of ranking.

I used many OSs in my day to day stuff, and after voting I sat and thought for a minute about the possible ranking. Looks something like this:

* Debian,
* FreeBSD,
* Ubuntu ("Other Linux" I guess),
* Symbian,
* Whatever Dell PowerConnect uses as an OS,
* Finally Windows.

Although I know there are a few other esoteric OSs like AOS and JetDirect. To be fair, the last two flap depending on what I'm doing in a day, but recently it's been per the above list. Which is something that puts a rye smile on my face :)

I thought about a sophisticated reason to tick another box ("running MS Office doesn't count as *using*"!), but the sad truth is my day job involves being a lowly Windows end user.

Why are you guys ashamed of using Windows? Since Win2000 it's actually quite a decent OS.

Windows do not trust nor respect users. Windows knows what should be done and what could be shared or distributed, user cant be given that freedom.

Debian is giving people freedoms and power, trust, knowledge. Windows are taking power over the user. Debian = free life, windows = system of death.

Many people do not really understand this deeply, but they have the feeling that windows = something evil. Its as evil as monopoly consolidation of power, censorship and bullying, lies and power abuse. And it will not be better with nonfree systems.

For all kinds of serving, work, entertainment I use Debian, CentOS and Fedora. Windows is used only on one PC because I have SB Audigy 2 sound card and the only source my ears are satisfied for this moment is this card (or another emu-10k-based) with kx audio driver (http://kxproject.lugosoft.com/) - but it's only for windows :( The only thing that makes me using Windows.

That card has crappy sound. Get an Audiophile 2496 or RME Hammerfall. Actually any highend card other than Creative will probably do. Both of those cards wor really well in Linux :)

I spend a fair amount of time in JunOS, which I suppose is "other UNIX". :) Sure beats IOS for us packet geeks.

My time is spent like this
Debian>Ubuntu>Windose
I do audio work... haven't gotten away from windose 100% just yet. Though my current audio software runs fantastic in wine, not all of the VST plugs I use do.

Mac is an option ;) When trying to do my work, Linux disturbs me with all funny things I can do --> no work done. When on mac, I still have the power of a *nix system, but because I'm looked in, there's only work left to do. In this case, the lack of freedom IS a future! But I will always consider FOSS OS/software as my home :)

Windows, in a vbox VM, to compile XBMC for my first gen XBox. I was using Ubuntu out of laziness, but migrated to squeeze/sid - went well except my CPU Fan is locked on full speed. Also Windows when I'm not at home, i.e. computers I don't own. (It appears that you can vote more than once?)
