Good link!

I think there are four of us here in Edinburgh, which isn't bad going.

That is where I grew up and lived until I was 18!

Now I'm happily settled in Edinburgh, Scotland. Almost as nice but a little colder this time of year!

Poll Results

You had already voted in this poll, for "Britain".

Your vote has now been changed to "Britain".

No I didn't already vote.

"You had already voted in this poll, for "Britain"."
I think it's shown when you haven't voted.

Fixed now; the poll IDs I'd entered were bogus.

Nobody else should see this error now :)

"Nobody else" ?? But is it resolved yet? Any chances of seeing it again in other polls?

I'm confused by your comment.

I meant that nobody else should see errors claiming they had already voted when they had not.

If you have voted and change your vote then it will be changed as expected - the error came about when people had not voted and they mistakenly received a message claiming they had.

My vote didn't count either but we are used to that here in Diebold (TM-A subsidiary of the Republican National Party) country, usa. "The Empire never ended" - PKD, VALIS, 1981.

Anyway, a big 'HOWDY' from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma here in the left ventrical of tornado alley. Not many of us Debian GNU/Linux users around these here parts but I do my best to spread the word.

broken arrow? didn't you mean to type "tulsa"? ;-)

growing up i had a friend that moved to broken arrow for a year or two before moving back, but he always said "tulsa".

here in texas, every major city (dallas, houston, etc) has several suburbs, but for sanity sake when traveling and a stranger asks "where are you from?" you just say the major city so as to avoid giving a geography lesson.

curious if the same is true for other heavily populated areas outside the us, assuming "suburbs" exist elsewhere (i'm so pathetically american :-p).

But the site is hosted in Britain. The "Britain" entry is more specific than Europe, so choose Britain.

Britain might be, but what about the 'United Kindgom of Great Britain and Northern Island' ?

I think the poll-submitter just added Britain as a special case as a nod to the location of the site.

Antartica, 1 vote, come on own up.

Penguins with Penguins?

Or can we expect an article on Debian in the cold?

4!?! CIA Worldfact book states summer population of antarctica is ~4000. So either we are one of the most popular sites in the antartic (0.1% coverage), or there are some wind up merchants here. I know what I think ;)

Since Debian is the "universal" OS, I think the option range must be kept broader, at least by including major planets of our solar system. Or some troll from Titan (or Uranus, or Betelgeuse I don't know) might get angry...

I am also somewhat suprised, I expected to see America dominating the results, as that is the audience I notice when I'm reading the various Debian mailing lists.

This site appears to have a large European bias, I'm not sure why that is.

Still I guess I'll stick with my funny British spelling ;)

I used "7 continents" from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Continents

[ Parent ]

Well, that Wikipedia article is uncomplete.
America is just one continent, but it is politically divided in three parts:

- North America
- Central America
- South America

Just look at any world map.

Hi,

I live in Paris France, and was pleasently surprised that Europe had the greatest
pull, not the US. Maybe Billy don't let you use Linux much. :-)

Detroit, Michigan here... gotta love this snow we've been getting the last few days. I love snow, I just don't like it when driving conditions are a best guess on where your lane should be.

So I just stay inside and find new things on Debian.

Hi there!

My mounting point is Europe/Spain/Andalucia/Cordoba right now.

Most Autonomic (=Regional) Public Administrations are deploying Debian or Ubuntu based distros in Spain.

Yep, as all of you perfectly know... Debian rules!

NY, NY, USA here.

color me surprised at the european dominance as well. but i'm glad to see it. i'm tired of north-american hegemony. i've noticed a lot of south- and central-american traffic on the edubuntu mailing lists recently also, which is certainly a Good Thing.

Wouldn't it be great to see every continent so well-represented?
