Weblog entry #166 for Steve
I've just returned from a brief holiday, with my partner, in Vienna.
Nice as Edinburgh is I was very happy with Vienna; small, easily navigated, remarkably pretty, and full of cute people.
The only downside was that our attempts at speaking German were obviously not very good - no sooner had we said a word or two than the people we were speaking with switched to English!
Things here seem to have held up despite my complete lack of internet access (choice rather than necessity) which was a pleasant suprise. Maybe next time there'll be some submissions for me to return to?!
Tomorrow I'm flying to Devon, for another week-long holiday. This time I'll probably bring a laptop with me, but I'm not yet decided. If you see me commenting then I'm online, otherwise I'll be back in a week!
PS. Keysigning? Exeter/Newton Poppleford?

next time you could try using RFC 1149, otherwise know as IP via avian carrier.

I can cope with the slowdown of TCP over DNS, but anything slower than that I'd just rather not bother !

Not immediately, although I admit it would be nice to add.
Current todo-list is:
- Update the site search facilities to be more useful.
- Upgrade server from Sarge -> Etch.
- GPG-Sign outgoing notification mails.
- Improve layout / stylesheet.
- ???
Of course it might be nice to write some articles instead of doing coding work for a while ;)

Anyway, how about OpenID? Has you though any more about that? I usally have to reset the password each time I want to log in :-)

Still no change just yet - I'll try to book some time in the next week or two to investigate it.
Half my problem is that the Perl libraries to support it are a little cryptic, and hard to use. (Not to mention that I need to make backports for Etch).
