It has been a long time since I talked about this last, but after nearly three months I now have a working online dating site!

It isn't completely open for business at the moment, instead running as a closed beta where existing members must invite additional users. I've been gradually inviting users (and letting them invite their friends too!) for the past week and watching things work. So far the codebase is holding up well after some hasty caching was implemented in a few key spots! As upon this site it has been rewarding to receive a lot of feedback and suggestions now that we have real users upon it.

I've updated several things and added many new facilities to the code as a direct result of user suggestions; which is just how it is supposed to work.

Still after so long quietly working on the project it is a bit of a shock to see people interacting. Definitely a fun thing to do.

Next up we need to decide when to launch for real and come up with a decent advertising push; since any dating site is useless without other users to ogle/contact/meet.

Next week I'll try to write some more articles for this site which has been neglected during my dating activity.
