There may be lingering issues, but I'll attend as and when they become apparent, or are reported.

Testing comment ... Steve already got one in.

New site: What are main improvements users will see?

I have been busy but thought about redesigning the site again. Would you be willing to do that at this stage (there might be lots of bugs to take care of right now)?

Mostly the changes are behind the scenes, but they make things easier for me. I can literally run "fab deploy" and a new version of the code is deployed from my mercurial repository and made live.

Rolling back to arbitrary revisions of the codebase is trivial, and once I'd updated things to work this way I had the confidence to upgrade the host system from Lenny to Squeeze.

In terms of user-changes I guess the layout of the site has changed - which is either a positive improvement or an annoyance depending on how you feel - and the user-options have significantly simplified.

The simplified options should hopefully mean I no longer receive emails from users asking how to change their passwords and carry out tasks which to me seem "obvious".

Testing the comment system.
I see it now works as expected, Thanks Steve.
Besides the LARGE fonts and different colors, what else is new here?
I don't quite remember the older pre-previous site, is this one retro like that one?
Still thanks for this site, Steve!

Many internal changes have been made, but in terms of visible changes I think only the navigation is visibly different - and the user options should be more sane and easier to find.

I see you're not the only person to mention the font-sizes. I'll tweak a little, thanks!

As I look around I find using my FireFox window set to 1024pixel width,
that for me the site is viewed easier, when I zoom out two or three times, from the default font sizes when I first arrive here. Four zoom outs is too small for easy reading. Just my 2c. Thanks Steve.

Fonts are way too large and not consistent: I see some titles are serif, while the main text is sans --- don't style manuals suggest the opposite? ;-)

I also don't like the 1-pixel borders around buttons (e.g. the first line below the title) and panel sections: a changed background color would be a much more appealing means to tell the varius elements apart.

Thanks for the feedback, I've made the font-styles consistent now.

The other changes I'll need to ponder.

Is the number of registered users counter gone, or just somewhere else?
The report which usually was located along the upper right screen edge.

Removed. It was a piece of information which was supposed to show site-news and pretend the site was still busy; it'd be preferable to actually display new content more often...

Nice css, but it seems to have some problem. I have found this article http://www.debian-administration.org/articles/394 and its rendering is not really usable (too much horizontal scrolling).
