Computer blues.

Expect slow updates at the moment: My primary desktop machine is dead.
Right now I don't know if:
- I can restore it by shifting drives around, etc.
- I need to replace it. (Not gonna happen till I get more money :S)
(Update: Primary drive is dead. Motherboard also suspect...)
The machine will boot up a maybe one time in three. Then it panics no longer boot.
Still I have backups, once I have a drive to restore them onto ..

I feel your pain.
I got a box of used 40GB drives for free, so I Threw three of them in the box I was using as a server, and did archive backups amoung them, two of them died around the same time as the one I had put in my desktop machine.
Loss of redundancy is a frightening thing.
I have a new rule - no more used IDE drives
