Weblog entry #39 for Steve
FeedsWeblogs here are interesting, especially with the planet to make reading easier.
I still see two problems:
- On the menu-bar on the main site clicking upon a link takes you to all entries by the relevent user - not the most recent one.
- Is that wrong? It feels wrong to me ..
- The sidebar entries have no titles.
- I think I should add "title" attributes to the link to show the title of the most recent entry - but that only confuses things, see point #1
The front page shows recent security advisories.
This I like.
However I'm wondering if that should be:
- Optional
- More general purpose?
- Perhaps allow different users to add different feeds to that location?
Of course that increases complexity in some ways...
Ultimately I guess these are just minor considerations, it is the articles people come for (stay for?) and so they should be the most important thing.
I just know little tweaks sometimes make a big difference.

yeah, it should probably link to the most recent. However, since the most recent /is/ posted at the top, the link really does take you to the most recent post. I kinda like the idea of linking directly to the recent post, not the users main blog page. I dunno, seems trivial. Site looks great to me.

I've decided to make it link to the most recent (and also show the title in the link too) and I think it works out pretty well.
From an individual entry there is a link to all such entries too - so it would be possible to move around if required.
(The beta site contains this change.)
