Remembering I'd joined in the dim and distant past I tried to find my details.

I've had the same email adress since around 1996, which means I can usually obtain login information for "old stuff", even if I haven't saved it away carefully.
The downside is that I've had the same email adress since around 1996 - and I get lots of spam.
