Don't forget that user submitted polls are a good thing.

Much less effort than writing an article too ...Update

Boo! :)

Are there any plans for an article about tor? It's mentioned in the Recent Site News, but it doesn't say why it was enabled (or un-blocked). Can any tor user visit any site?

There was an introduction to Tor posted back in April.

The site blocking was really a temporary thing. There were a few days when a spate of abusive comments were left, and each of them came to the site via Tor proxies.

So as a temporary measure I blocked access to known Tor nodes. Whilst being annoyed about it.

Now the unblocking has happened, so Tor users can read the articles/site again

The only difference is that non-logged-in users behind Tor cannot leave comments. They have two choices:

  • Create an account and login, which allows them to leave comments despite using Tor.
  • Stop using tor for this site.

Not a perfect solution I'm sure, but good enough for the moment.

Steve

Ah great, so it was a specific block. Gotcha. Thanks for the pointer to the article.
