Now that Xmas and the new year are over, I went out and splashed out on an iRiver X20 media player. It had 8GiB of on-board ram and takes micro-SD card for expansion. Amarok and KDE work with it straight out of the box and it plays Ogg Vorbis files perfectly. Nothing is perfect, but it's good enough and I'm happy!
