Yesterday I put back a few more KDE packages I wanted on the box. I also fixed the ugly fonts and got nvidia working. I also took the oppertunity to clean out a lot of legacy packages only installed because originally the box had pretty much everything installed, rather than just the bits I wanted.

Next I'll do my father's already stripped down desktop box and finally my home server. My dad's will get done over the Winterval break, and my home server in the new year unless I decide to get a new box in the new year, in which case my there is no point in upgrading the server to just junk it.
