Weblog entry #66 for ajt
On my Etch desktop system, I've got a stupid problem with the standard "Debian Menu" that is part of the KDE menus system. At some point when KDE got upgraded it mangeled my user's Debian menu settings. The normal KDE menus are fine, and the root's Debian menu as part of KDE is okay. My Debian menu is full of duplicate enteries, and enteries for apps that aren't even installed anymore.
I've had a look in the /usr/share/menu/ directory and that is okay. I've flushed my local .config/menus/applications-kmenuedit.menu file and rebuilt the kmenu from scratch. I just can't find where KDE thinks within my version of the Debian menu "fontforge" is, because it's not in the system wide directory, it's not even installed, and it shouldn't be in my locate KDE menu. It appears that I can add or update an item, but I can't get rid of them......!
I'm not sure if this is a problem with the Debian menu application and it's config or the KDE menu application, but it's a real pain in the posterior!
