I'm considering building a home SAN as a more upgradeable replacement for my Debian fileserver. The fileserver will be the SAN head, and I'll be hooking the devices in using AoE on a private switch.

Does anyone think this is a good or a bad idea? Any suggestions? LVM? RAID? Filesystems?

Just like it says on the tin. I have Apache2 on Etch running nicely with a WebDAV virtualhost. Browsing to it with the webdav:/ kioslave in KDE asks me for a password, I login, and I now have simple access to drop files onto my webserver.

However, as GroupDAV employs a subset of the commands that WebDAV uses, Apache2 with WebDAV is apparently a fully compatible GroupDAV server. However, I have no idea how to get this capability going. I've tried pointing Kontact at the groupdav server, but it fails to list any of my folders.

Has anyone tried this, and got it working? If so, how?
