I try to experience life to the fullest while keeping in mind that everything is illusory, transient, not-self. I love to travel, from small excursions just out of town to fish or hike to subjectively epic adventures on the far reaches of the globe. Thusfar I have traveled to Africa (South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Zambia) for two weeks. I have lived in Europe (Italy and Germany), and traveled to many countries which are considered part of it during my early childhood.
Of course, I am from America; I hope you won't hold that against me. As with all things there are pros and cons. I would very much like to visit India, Thailand, Japan, China, Australia, etc. as soon as possible. If I had the means, I'd spend my whole life traveling and meeting new people. I would like to learn and also to share my humble knowledge of human consciousness and blend into their culture. My goal is to extract every bit of meaning and incorporate it into my consciousness model/map.
I'm an avid computer hacker and founder of the Zero Day Digest (0dd), a private, encrypted, security mailing list. I value freedom over security and am struggling with the conceptions of duty, ownership and singular-objective reality. I have a passion for nature and learning new things. I am, for the most part, a self-taught jack-of-all-trades and enjoy this.
I have explored many religions and sought mystical experiences for many years. I'm a Reiki Master/Scholar and have traced the thread of it's origin all the way back to Indo-Aryan mushroom cults. If this idea offends you then please skip to the next paragraph. I feel that my mission is to affirm, reclaim, and safeguard understanding, tolerance, and rights for those who use entheogens in spiritual practice. For me that's entailed abstaining from their use indefinitely until either relocating or a reform of the national and local laws.
Additionally, I was in the US Army Reserves for 8 years serving in both Field Artillery (King of Battle) and Infantry (Queen of Battle. Follow me!). Later on I had a falling out, spiritual awakening I prefer to call it. I enjoyed the combat training but had decided it would be preferable to live my whole life without killing another human being. So far so good!
I've also, last year, helped with about 10 other people to assemble one of the top 500 fastest super computers on the planet. For only $8,000,000.00 you too could own one of these babies. Now one months electric and cooling bill will probably cost your more than most people earn in a month. Check out top500.org for more details.
