Hmmm; not completely, no. But I have run into numerous RTC issues with various 'Linux' releases (I run Linux on multiple hardware - PowerPC, SUN/Sparc - not just Intel) and looking at the twin scripts I think the author has prolly had as much trouble as I have had :P It is an interesting solution in trying to keep the clock straight. While I haven't found the need to fiddle with the kernel I have used something similar to those two scripts to keep older hardware clocks straight using NTP gyrations...
