Debian + Nokia 6681 = Mobile Internet

I had a difficult time finding just a few lines of configuration to make my Debian notebook connect to the internet using my phone's bluetooth and GPRS.
I ended with a working solution in case someone needs to connect a Linux system via a GSM modem. Have fun.

Just a comment about the string to dial: there seems not to be a standard, but every maker has its own. Here is a summary of the most likely strings to test:

  • Nokia *99#
  • Samsung *99**1*1#
  • Motorola *99#
  • LG *99***1#
  • Sony Ericsson *99***9#
  • Other *99***1#
