Today is the day that I will install Debian on my Dell Inspiron. I've experimented with Debian Sarge, Ubuntu and Suse first. With Ubuntu and Suse everything worked at once. With Debian not everything. But i'm gonna work on that today. Everything HAS to work when i'm finished.

The only thing that i'm thinkink of is witch Debian i'm going to use. Sarge of Etch. On my Workstation i'm using Debian Etch and that works great!

Hi,

Could you let me know if you get the Suspend and Hibernate features to work right?

I have hibernate working mostly, every now and then the wireless card won't come back up unless I reboot though. Even rmmod and modprobing the wifi modules doesn't fix the problem.
Problem with hibernate is that it takes ages to shut down,

Suspend on the other hand just never resumes. It has something to do with the nVidia drivers apparently.

Everything else on the laptop seems to work natively with Ubuntu and Debian though; although I did have to update the ipw2200 drivers by hand before the wireless card would actually connect to my AP even though it connected during the installation.

Thanks in advance,
Garreth.
