Last summer we were treated each evening to several hundred bats escaping from the neighbours roof, and flying around our garden. Today, I went to check out the loft for a possible damp problem to discover rather a lot of animal droppings in one spot. Not seen any of them yet, but it doesn't take Sherlock Holmes to figure out the likely culprit.

UK law is particularly fierce in it's protection of bats, and their roosts.

I'm sure we'll work out some sort of scheme for peaceful coexistence (usually this involves copious amounts of vinyl sheeting), and let us hope next year that they move on somewhere else.
