Long Now foundation podcasts fall into three categories.

1) Brilliant
2) You really need to join to see the pictures
3) Tedious

This is definitely in category 1.

What worried me is the Amazon's website hasn't recommended any of his books to me ;)

Not sure about his suggested fixes, but the description of the current world was eye opening, and I thought I knew about these things.
