Skype on 64 bit Debian

Skype on Debian Testing seems now to require enabling Multi-Arch support. Somehow installing 130MB of software for one VOIP application leaves one feeling the Dao of programming may have died.

Wonder how many Debian Desktops are still 32bit?

Mine are 2 x 32bit 1 x 64bit entirely reflecting the age of the hardware, but I only use Skype frequently on the 64bit box at work.

They link to the wiki, long overdue wiki account applied for.

I noticed this on sid too a couple of weeks back. I was upgrading skype to the latest version and had to use multiarch to get it installed.

I guess there's always a price to pay for proprietary software, even when it comes for free!
